Guardian Angel POTFF Facility
Davis Monthan Air Force Base, Arizona
Design Completed FY18
Construction Commenced FY19
Under Contract Number W912QR-16-D-0031, Blair Remy Architects was authorized to perform an on-site charrette and prepare the Charrette Report for the FY19 Guardian Angel POTFF (Preservation of the Force and Family) Facility to be sited on Davis Monthan Air Force Base, Arizona. Concept floor plans and elevations were reviewed by stakeholders to gain a consensus on the way forward to developing architectural and engineering floor plans, site plans, utility plans, technical narratives, and background data to support the full design of the Guardian Angel POTFF Facility.
The development of the Guardian Angel POTFF facility takes into account the relationship to the existing 306th Squadron Operations (Squad Ops) facility through the use of strategic placement on the site, exterior accesses, and providing paved pedestrian access from the existing facility and parking lot to the new facility. The functions required to support the mission are strength and endurance training, rehabilitation, physical therapy, mental health and family counseling.
The new facility consists of open floor area to house cardiovascular and strength training exercise equipment. It will also provide space for a dedicated Physical Therapy area, Physical Therapy Exam Room/Office, Private offices for a Strength Training Coach and Social Worker as well as an open work space for a Psychologist and Chaplain to desk-share.
