PLANNING DOCUMENT COMPLETED FY10
THE GOAL OF THE MASTER PLAN IS TO ASSESS THE CURRENT AND FUTURE REQUIREMENTS OF THE U.S. CENTRAL COMMAND (USCENTCOM) CAMPUS AT MACDILL AFB AND TO DEVELOP A NEW CAMPUS DESIGN THAT SATISFIES THOSE NEEDS.
THE MASTER PLAN WILL CONSOLIDATE 28 EXISTING FACILITIES TO COMPLIMENT THE NEWLY CONSTRUCTED FOUR-STORY BUILDING ALONG WITH A SECOND FOUR-STORY STRUCTURE. THE MASTER PLAN WILL ALSO ADDRESS THE 1,300 PEOPLE THAT WILL BE DISPLACED WITH THE TEMPORARY AND LEASED FACILITIES ARE DEMOLISHED AS WELL AS PROVIDE A 1,500-CAR PARKING GARAGE TO ADDRESS THE CURRENT PARKING ISSUES.
THE PLAN ALSO PROVIDES RECOMMENDATIONS ON TIMELINES FOR EXISTING BUILDING RELOCATION, STORMWATER RETENTION, LANDSCAPE DESIGN, AND CAMPUS BEAUTIFICATION STRATEGIES. THE EXTERIOR APPEARANCE OF THE USCENTCOM COMES WILL BE COMPLEMENTARY, COMPREHENSIVE AND COHESIVE IN ITS RESPONSE TO THE BASE DESIGN STANDARDS AND THE AMC ARCHITECTURAL COMPATIBILITY PLAN.
