Blair Remy provided programming and architectural design services for an 18,294 SF, one-story facility which will accommodate two hundred fourteen (214) children, ages six (6) weeks through five (5) years of age. The Child Development Center (CDC) will provide a modern, adequately sized, properly configured, and conveniently located childcare services facility for military and civilian families at Scott AFB. Currently, Scott’s existing child development center facilities provide eighty three percent (83%) of the space required to meet the current need, resulting in military, civilian personnel, and their dependent children being denied service on base. This Requirements Document (RD) for the new facility addresses the majority of these current needs. The CDC requires space which is inclusive of but not limited to childcare rooms, administration areas, kitchen, laundry room, playground areas, space for mechanical equipment to meet the needs of this new facility, and a modern fire detection system.
