CONTRACTED BY ANDREWS AFB BASE CIVIL ENGINEERING, BLAIR REMY WAS TASKED TO ASSEMBLE DESIGN OPTIONS IN A STUDY TO DETERMINE THE FEASIBILITY OF CONVERTING EXISTING DORMITORIES AND ADDING TO THOSE FACILITIES TO CREATE A “LAW CAMPUS.” DETERMINING ITS VIABILITY WAS THE FIRST STEP TOWARD MEETING THE AIR FORCE’S STATED GOAL OF DESIGNING AND CONSTRUCTING FACILITIES OF EXCELLENCE THAT ENHANCE MISSION EFFECTIVENESS AND PROTECT THE ENVIRONMENT.
THIS STUDY GRAPHICALLY SHOWS THE STRATEGY FOR CONSTRUCTING A 71,700 SF FACILITY. ANCILLARY IMPROVEMENTS ARE TO INCLUDE HVAC SYSTEMS/IMPROVEMENTS, UTILITIES, LANDSCAPING, CONCRETE PEDESTRIAN WALKS, PAVED PARKING LOTS, AND ANTI-TERRORISM/FORCE PROTECTION MEASURES.
